Each Thanksgiving, VIRR organizes a special Turkey Trot race at Keokea Park. This year, the prizes will be awarded to participants with the most creative Thanksgiving-themed outfits. The 8-mile race kicks off at 7:00 am, followed by the 5K at 7:30 am. The course begins at the park, extends onto Thompson Road, and ends back at Keokea Park.
We'll be gathering non-perishable food donations for the Maui Food Bank. Join us for a run before indulging in your Thanksgiving feast!
Maui Turkey Trot
- When: Thursday, November 27, 2025, 7:30 AM start (gather at 7:00 AM)
- Where: Keokea Park, 218 Lower Kula Rd, Kula, Maui, Hawaii
- Tickets/Admission Cost: $27.50 for non-members; free for VIRR club members (discount applied at checkout)
- What to Bring / Extra Perks: Dress up in a festive costume (prizes for funniest outfits), bring non-perishable food for Maui Food Bank, T-shirts available early.

When do I need to arrive?
Get there at 7:00 AM, as the run/walk starts promptly at 7:30 AM.
Do I need to register in advance or can I sign up on race day?
Reservations are strongly encouraged (especially to guarantee a T-shirt and costume prize eligibility), but if you didn't plan ahead, check the event’s registration page for availability on race day.
What if I’m not a runner or just want to watch?
No problem! This is a walk/run. You can participate walking, dress up with the family, or just spectate. It’s all about community, fun, and giving back.
