Hurricane Lowell Update

Kauaʻi Travel Update

Kauaʻi continues to make strong progress following Hurricane Lowell, thanks to the dedication of residents, emergency responders, utility crews and community partners. Aston Islander on the Beach and Aston at Poʻipū Kai both have full power, and essential services, including fuel and groceries, are available in Kapaʻa and Poʻipū. Recovery continues elsewhere on the island, with some communities experiencing more significant disruptions.

Planning your stay

We continue to honor existing reservations at Aston Islander on the Beach and Aston at Poʻipū Kai. Travelers considering a new stay are welcome to contact us to discuss availability and current property conditions.

Before traveling, please confirm available amenities and services with your property and check with activity providers to ensure your planned experiences are available. Some areas of Kauaʻi remain in active recovery, so flexibility and thoughtful planning will help you make the most of your visit.

For availability, questions about an existing reservation or assistance with your travel plans, please contact Aqua-Aston at 1-855-945-4092 (U.S./Canada) or 1-808-564-7618 (international). If you booked through a travel advisor, online travel agency or another provider, please contact them directly.

We also continue to welcome travelers supporting recovery efforts and displaced community members who need accommodations.

Visiting with care

Conditions vary across Kauaʻi. Some communities, particularly in parts of the North Shore, remain more significantly affected, and access to certain areas, activities and services is still limited. Please check with your property or activity provider before heading out and respect the needs of communities where recovery work continues.

Enjoying nearby restaurants, shops and activities that are open can make a meaningful difference for local businesses and families. We ask visitors to bring patience, flexibility and aloha to their interactions with residents and employees.

During your stay, please:

  • Respect closures, avoid restricted or heavily affected areas, and follow county and emergency instructions.

  • Allow extra time for road repairs and utility work. Treat nonworking traffic lights as four-way stops.

  • Follow water conservation guidance and current water-quality advisories. An islandwide water conservation notice and brown water advisory remain in effect.

  • Check current beach, park and trail closures before visiting, and confirm flight information directly with your airline.

For the latest visitor guidance, visit gohawaii.com/lowell. Local recovery updates are available at Kauaʻi Recovers.

All other Aqua-Aston properties on Oʻahu, Maui and Hawaiʻi Island remain open and operating normally.

Mahalo for your patience, understanding and aloha, and to everyone supporting Kauaʻi’s recovery.
